As long as you are in control I don't see why you should quit. I had to quit because I wasn't in control and couldn't get it under control. But I ll never judge someone who can enjoy drinking responsibly. Allowing yourself some pleasure in life is not a weakness. It's only a weakness if it rules over you.
Thats the thing, Im in control during the week but evidently not on weekends.
Are you a nuisance for your neighbors? Do you become uncontrollably sad or violent? Do you drive drunk? If you answer no to all of the above, you don't have a problem with alcohol. Letting the steam blow at the end of the week is completely normal and common. My dad drank his whiskey at the end of the day all his life. Only now at 75 he has to stop because of health issues. He was never a alcoholic. I never saw him drunk. Tippsy at my sister's wedding and that's it. His drinking was a pleasure with no bad consequences. Now, if you wait all week to get plastered alone on the weekends, I would recommend that you find a way socialize more.
No neighbors, and no to all the above. Its more about feeling good. Yeah I feel better drinking but its not true. Socializing is out of the question.
