I am immediately coherent.

Idle minds don't get worn down so they don't need much time to ramp back up.

Makes sense that empty minds don't need any time to reach full capacity.

I like this answer best even though my brain is active right away if focused on puzzles. Conversations are lost to me though and am not able to go from sleep to a phone call

Naked w/ a throbbing erection and an overwhelming desire to go pee.

I can immediately go from waking up to doing a NYT crossword puzzle (no harder than Wednesday edition). I am not able to hold conversations though or hold deep thought on anything else for at least a half hour.

I know it's shite & terrible for my workout recovery & cortisol levels, but usually sleep 5 hours a day split in 2 shifts.

I wake up in a stupor, do not ask me questions for at least ten minutes. I would be a terrible fireman

4-5 hours per night. I never snooze. I like to have about an hour to wake up fully before i leave. I hate having to rush in the mornings.

Most mornings, just like you... up and at 'em. Other times my guts don't treat me so nice during the night, and I begrudgingly get up those days. Thankfully it's not always like that.

Typically sleep for 6 hours, with at least one wake-up interruption in the middle of the night to piss. Usually can't sleep any longer than that; even trying hard to go back to sleep.

However, I distinctly remember how tough it was waking up when I was young. I remember it was like the bed had arms and was pulling me back into it. I remember wanting to go back to sleep so bad... in the hallway, on the couch, on the toilet... I remember being able to stay asleep for 11-12 hours, no problem, not waking up once. There's a bit of biology to all that. Young people just ain't wired for early mornings or short sleep.

Jump out of bed to feed the animals at 6. I am immediately awake and eat breakfast right after they do.
