Back in the day, you could get three soda cans, a can opener, some tape, a can punch, a stick, lighter fluid, a tennis ball, a book of matches and have a great time. Then the powers that be decided to taper the tops and bottoms of the cans and that ended the fun.

We used steel drainpipes from the guttering, put one end in a barrel on fire, dropped a small can of butane then a "payload"---- PRESTO! homemade 120mm mortar.

My brothers and I used Hi-C juice cans and made the best cannons in the world. What fun!
