If you're not a raging asshole, the chances you will ever encounter a cop in a "professional capacity" are next to zero, unless you are a victim of a crime somehow. Cops are like garbage. Garbage tends to attract more garbage- like if someone throws a fucked up old mattress into an alley, a few days later, there will be a mountain of garbage piled up on top of it. People see it and think "That's surely where I can put my garbage, that's where it belongs, otherwise there wouldn't be a bunch of garbage there already." Apply this to police. Cops now know you. You have a reputation among them. They're going to be aware of what you drive, your daily routine, etc.. They're going to watch you until you fuck up and run a red light or get caught swerving while DUI. All because of the first time you dove into garbage.
