Application are under review, but I doubt anyone has looked at them yet. Probably the only thing that could kick me out at this point would be it's slated for someone already, or veteran's preference overrides me.

Good luck with that, I'm in a market for a new job as well.

I'm guessing in the US they are giving advantage to the Vets during the hiring processes? Does that go for all industries?

It's a job where the paycheck ultimately comes from a GSE, so they are required to prefer veterans over others.
