It seems like the number of "Thalidomide: The worst medical disaster EVER" stories has been increasing of late. Part of this is probably just due to smaller creators latching on to trends they see, but how much of it is funded by deeper sources in an attempt to get this back in the public's mind before some other disaster - one that is far worse - happens?

To distract from the fact that Thalidomide is far from the worst medical disaster ever, including the latest round of vaccinations.

A return to our regularly scheduled programming.

That's the point I think. Get this in the public eye as "OH SO TERRIBLE" to distract from other things.
