I'm curious on fishing. What are those 1.3 billion chinese suppose to eat? Bugs? Not that I have a problem with them eating it. I just want to eat real fish.

As far as sport fishing goes, there is definitely some fuckery in my neck of the woods. Every year there is where it costs big money to enter. All the people entering it have $2m+ boats. The kind with like 3 350hp motors on the back. They race out to deep water at start time in the morning. Catch and release several 400lb+ fish. Race back at the end of the competition. Then gather each night to eat steak (seriously they don't even eat fish). So they waste hundreds of gallons of fuel per day and probably kill a few large fish in the process. At least with industrial fishing they are eating what they catch. The only reason I even know about this competition was because I was at the beach late one night when I saw all these expensive boats racing in.

Kodak put out a series of inkjet printers about 15 years ago that promised they would have low cost ink replacements so you could keep your printer longer. I bought one of these printers and my first two ink cartridge purchases were about half the cost of HP or Epson ink cartridges, but then the price jumped up to just about a dollar cheaper than their competitors. The cartridges also seemed to be of smaller capacity which meant more frequent replacement. The whole thing was a big scam that they promoted as a revolution in the cost of inkjet printer ownership. No one has an incentive to make ink cheaper because the market is completely jewed. Laser printers are better in terms of life and operating costs, but they don't fit as many printing applications as inkjet printers do.
