Because it would be seen as a further act of aggression by Russia and would cause military strikes that would then not be so obviously hostile jew attacks by the Biden admin. Why would Russia need to protect them when Russia is intentionally slowing down gas through the pipelines? Russia doesn't need to send the gas, Europe does need the gas.
