We have one. Our first son is due to be born in our home in three weeks.
They love (medical profession) C-sections.
The mantra for many years was "once a c-section always a c-section" and then the book "Silent Knife" came out.
That book gave us the courage to do natural after a c-section.
Lots of sissy girls nowadays actually PREFER a c-section.
I know two women that have had successful natural births after having C sections. The fact that most places refuse to facilitate that is demented. Also demented is that it's illegal in lots of states for midwives to do out of hospital births for a wide range of complications. And many of those complications are only diagnosable by OBs and there is extremely limited option for second opinions, to say nothing of the costs.
Also, when we did give in to that C-section, it was after a lot of pressure from the doctor.
"Oh the baby is turned weird and we better just go ahead and getter done." Etc.
This particular hospital was, and is, a teaching hospital so they always welcomed the opportunity to showcase a C-section.
Edit: Additionally, what was weird is that we had no intention of going to the hospital, but of all things our midwife didn't show!
So we ended up at the hospital, and everybody later was like, wow, good thing the midwife didn't show up cause it would have been a disaster cause a C-section was needed.
But that doc that night didn't sound very convincing to me, sounded like they were just in a hurry and also wanted to operate. Wife cried for days lol.
Wow (I've been out of it but it certainly doesn't surprise me).
This was in early 80s that we read the book and decided to go ahead with a home birth (after C-section).
There's a cartoon floating around of a "mid-husband". He's standing at the end of the bed, the mother to be has her legs up and spread, and he asks "does it hurt? Ya want a beer?"
Sounds extremely jewish.
humans are the only animal that can make a fake baby in a test tube.
