On craigslist things were going well, good ordinary down to earth good humans buying the stuff, albeit only 50% it's worth or less as if our economy is COMPLETE SHIT. However facebook market has been extremely disturbing.

Some of my items aren't getting enough hits on craigslist. I asked a girl where people are going for used items and she said 'facebook marketplace'. So I put some items on facebook marketplace however the demographic is TOTALLY different. For one it's younger people. Two it's liberal whiny entitled types instead of down to earth real humans.

I'm trying to sell a bed frame for ~$100. The price I got it for was $700. There is some cat hair on the bottom of it, and some small cat scratch little balls, however the two people which have shown up have whined and cried that "it looks used" "can you make the price lower"? WTF. IT IS USED. If you want 100% of the cat balls out then by all means! Get a small pair of scissors / razor / needle nose pliers to cut them out! It can be done. The cat hair? There is barely any at the bottom, FUCKING VACUUM TO ABSOLUTE PERFECTION YOURSELF! They're on the bottom! Trying to knock down the price? What IN THE LIVING FUCK! It's already 15% it's purchase price. It is BELOW the selling price BY FAR for it's great condition.

They literally say "well I could get a new one for $300". Well FFS if you want a new one THEN GET A NEW ONE. The entitlement is BEYOND comprehension. They want it for free and I'm a peon in a communist country I should just be giving my shit away for free.

Also for the features of this frame, it'd be no less than $500 for the frame. Whether they care about the features or not is non of my business (no center side post to stub your toes on, couple inches higher than the norm for storage, non flush sides, single piece sides instead of two). The price is FAR below either.

Perhaps. You should accept the fact that anything with cat scratches. Regardless of how few you think they are, will look USED to others.

Take 90 seconds of your life. Grab some ultra fine steel wool. Rub the scratches to remove any burrs that stick up, then find a wood filler as absolutely close as you can, or learn to mix paint and filler to make it... this isnt expensive 25 bucks if you need to mix paint into... fill scratches, rub over with steel wool again. paint with gloss/semi/matte (If you arent smart enough to figure out which you need, you can test on the bottom of surfaces after taping off a tiny area) clear to match other surface...

Fucking problem solved, no more cat bullshit no one wants to buy, and you sold an item you want to dump...

Your other option is to let it go for less.

if you fuck this up, and apply a filler that doesnt match when dry. It will look worse and those scratches will stand out like sore thumbs in a fucking room of thumbless polesmokers

No way a used item will look used. We'd have to sell it for a used price if that were the case! I'd have to raise the price to 50% then!
