The new models don't handle as well as the older models, and the new models tend to break down a lot more frequently than the older more reliable ones.
Also, the older models were just built better and work better. The new ones don't want to do any real work and just want to have a bunch of after market knock off parts installed.
The most reliable models were built before 1980. Anything made this century is almost guaranteed to be a lemon.
