My sister and I tried it once growing up. We didn't have a single sale :(. It was a rural road so not much traffic. That and I'm sure we didn't put the signs out far enough, maybe a hundred feet or so. People fly on that road. We never stood a chance haha.

I remember when I was in school, I began selling gum for 5 or 10 cents a piece, until I was told by a teacher to stop because it was against the rules and it hurt the cafeteria or some bs (it was a lie).

Still, I made about 10 dollars or so, and for a kid that age I was really happy.

The funny part is that the cafeteria didn't even sell candy or sweets in the first place.

Also, another kid began doing the same so I had to create deals/promos like "buy 2 get another for free".

Good times.
