For starters "Peter Pan Syndrome" is a LOAD OF HORSESHIT. Peter Pan basically fucked every mermaid, fairy, Wendy, all her mother's and mother's mothers and their daughters. Peter Pan basically died when he was a kid.

There were odd stories about him, as that when children died he went part of the way with them, so that they should not be frightened.

He guided dead kids to Neverland, which was basically custom for every kid, a collection of all their thoughts and impressions from all their experiences. It normally forms it's self as an island but not always. However he also kept guiding kids, in particular the daugher's of, a certain mother-line.

He said he went back to the window of his own mother and found 'he was forgotten, they had new kids'. This is probably because he died, not because they forgot him.

He never 'came back to life' because he probably couldn't, not because he "wanted to always be a child".

It offends "them" so much because it's how you should live. The whole book is basically a romance that only a prefederal reserve era gifted writer could write. It's a gem that could never ever be recreated.

Absolutely everybody envied Peter Pan's way of being. His spirit, energy, seek of adventure, wonder spirited, and most importantly from Hook's perspective, his form in all such so pure that he didn't himself even know he had it. Both alive and in neverland envied his spirit etc, both adult and child. The whole island wasn't alive and properly active unless he was there.

Damn. I miss my complete collections of Charles Dickens and Jules Verne. Fucking mom sold them at a yard sale. The heavy expensive volumes my sister gifted to me... Not quite american, but Grandpop smedley got me on the classics at a young age. Albeit a nazi sympathizer in Florida, I always looked forward to him sending me books... Currently reading the Prose Edda (I've read portions before) but i should reconnect with classic American writing
