Alcoholics Anonymous is the only organization that helps alcoholics, and they do it by stressing the importance of making a connection with God. If you don't have God helping you quit the booze, you aren't going to be able to quit. The same goes for narcotics. I don't care how strong you think you are, you aren't strong enough -- you need God's strength.

Nonsense. Every study shows they help 5-7% of people. I was a hardcore boozer and user for decades, and kicked because I got TIRED of it all. I am not religious.
