I've traced back the most distinct wrong turns in western ideology to the enlightenment(not the whole of it, but many guiding principles which bore the false god of equality. Equality under the law is great, pretending gays should be treated as equals to married couple is fucking retarded, pretending niggers deserve citizenship in the west is deluded, this and more are the product of lofty enlightenment era thought didactically and dogmatically extended past what is reasonable.
