And not a single person you think fits this definition would agree with your thinking. They truly believe they are adding value to the world with their craft. And they would have legitimate arguments to support their position.

Help me out, here: give me examples of specific professions that fit your definition. Trying to think of some and I'm drawing a blank. I was going to say student loan banks at first but there are legit reasons to fund your education at the professional level (and not everyone agrees that the state should regulate, manage, and fund college educations for everyone). What about home loans but with a flat fee of like...$25K or something? Or a percentage of the home? I could see the home loan industry being turned on its head if we had a regulation like that.

Examples? How about BlackRock or any other investment firm?

That is usury, and it is clearly defined in the Bible as a sin. The state has no business regulating it; it's supposed to fall back on morality.

They provide a legit service, though. They are corrupt as fuck, yes. But they do not fit your definition. Your definition is so specific that I do not think anything can actually apply to it.

No, what I describe is the solution to usury: a flat fee to process the loans. The usuary is how the system currently works within the home loan industry. My suggestion is a flat fee to process and service your interest-free loan.

What service are they providing? I'm genuinely curious here, because I don't personally see any added value. I might be missing something though.

Loan for any profit at all is by definition usury. Where's your fee going?
