I called the Fish and Wildlife departments for six southeastern states, not one of them has a hunting season for sandhill cranes, and a few of them suggested they are protected.

Those of you suggesting they were delicious are either lying or breaking the law.

You can definitely hunt sandhill cranes legally.

Thanks! I'm calling Oklahoma now to see how much an out of state license is going to cost, and what the season dates are - what a wase of time searching the southeast.
