I called the Fish and Wildlife departments for six southeastern states, not one of them has a hunting season for sandhill cranes, and a few of them suggested they are protected.

Those of you suggesting they were delicious are either lying or breaking the law.

Once we had a good population of domestic ducks in the local park (likely Easter rejects after kids got tired of the 'gift') they even had a little floating duck dock in the middle of the pond to sleep on at night. Once the Asians moved in to the neighborhood, those domestic ducks disappeared.

Something similar happened to the Canada Geese populations at a number of corporate parks near where I used to work.

Canada Geese are pests who took over large swaths of land because they were deemed to be in need of protection. Never mind that they weren't native to the US and were only stopping on their migratory paths south.

No amount of marinade will improve the flavor of Canada Geese.

Canadian geese are cunts who strut around as they please, attack people, and shit everywhere.

Given the choice and ability to remove a single type of animal from existence, the Canada Goose would only be spared becuase I hate mosquitoes slightly more.
