Thanks for being a truvker. The bloodline of America. Stay frosty and keep on truckin!
Not a freight guy which I’m sure is what you are thinking. Construction, so aside from hauling materials and machines I’ll mostly have boots on the ground or in the machine.
You can set youself up pretty well with one of those if you dont have a family, live in your truck, and eat out as little as possible for a few years.
What kind of freight are you moving? I'm assuming you're saying you're going to be driving hotshot.
Construction materials, and machines. So I’m mostly in a dump with a flatbed.
Gotcha. Good deal.
Ain’t bad. Gotta say the pre-trip was a bitch. Failed a couple times for stupid shit such as; I said there was a fire extinguisher, didn’t say it was charged, didn’t explain how to check the dipstick, didn’t tell the examiner the truck doesn’t sneeze… fucking government. Skills and road test went off without a hitch when I finally got to it.
Now I just gotta be careful with my drinking, and continue to keep an eye out for swift drivers and them cowboys in triaxles.
How's your reverse skill? TBH if you can reverse a trailer you have 90% of the skills needed for a master trucker.
Easy enough to point that trailer where she’s going. I can usually thread the needle in one shot. A hand backing up is always appreciated of course, seldom completely necessary, and depending on experience it seems they’re always waving you back when you know it’s better to pull up.
Congrats bro! I've had my A for a year and a half. But why only a pintle hitch? I went full bore sans the hazmat cert, got certified for double/ trips and tanks plus no restrictions
yeah you're not kidding about jobs. i visit many industrial sites and pretty much every trucking company has hiring signs on their trucks.
Good on you. I drove professionally for over 10 years. Demand, even then, was high. You should have no problem finding work, Be careful tho, It can do severe damage to you socially. I'm not just talking about friends either, The strain it can put on family can be tremendous.
After the last 2 years and change of complete corruption, fake viruses, poisonous experimental injections and elections I really respect truckers are doing something since the people and the army are pussies and acknowledge fake leaders and governments.
Grats. Enjoy your no life and bad health. Trucking has been dogshit for years so I hope you've found a home daily job that's not 12-16 hours a day.
