I’m guessing your dog would like to say thank you for 17 great years. My sympathies.
I feel for you - One of the most heart-wrenching experiences I have ever had. Mine was 13. I cried for weeks.
You might not be considering this at the moment, because of grief, but if you don't have a picture, take one with your dog now.
I doubt he wants a picture of his sickly and ailing dog but who knows it's anticlutch afterall.
It's never easy but it will get better. Just know there's some awesome people out there. I had to put my first dog down last year and was the worse time of my life. Swore I'd never get another dog but I changed my mind a few months later. New little dude has some of the same oddball mannerisms as the old dude.
My Mrs wants a dog since she's never had one.
I got her 2 cats and a baby.
She still wants a dog. I keep saying no because I can't deal with that kind of pain again
I knew a guy who got guilt tripped into getting a dog under similar circumstances. Turned out the miss was allergic and didn't like the amount of affection he showed the dog. She got jealous of the dog.
Women get jealous of dogs a lot. I have seen it many times
I don't blame you. I can see a good family dog for you if you have a kid but, yeah, it's heartbreaking. I went to an outdoor BBQ recently and took the dog. The waitress teared up and asked if she could pet my dog. I guess hers had been hit on the road just the day prior.
A dog is pure love and loyalty. Losing that is so hard to face. Even strong men cry for that. She will watch over you forever.
Thank you.
Just know anon...your friend knows how you feel and loves you for your love. It really means alot to your friend that you are there right now. Your friend wants your face and energy to be the last to see them...life in full circle. You have my deepest condolences and thoughts.
very sweetly stated
I sorry. I know the feeling and it hurts too bad to talk about.
You have my sympathies, this is very hard to go through. However, death is a part of life and I admire you for being with her to the very end. It's hard to lose a good friend.
This reply comes 20 minutes after you posted. I am sorry for your loss. Ensuring that she has a painless passing, free from fear, knowing full well that she is loved, is the difficult, oh so painful, final duty we all have to our beloved pets. You have done right by her.
Considerations, mate.
You're....less of a fagoot.
And I'm sorry for your loss mate. All you can cling to in this moment is the memories and the knowledge that you have your partner the best life that you could.
