To be fair, non-accredited investors tend to be poor because they're retarded. Do you really think a retard is capable of conducting fundamental analysis or even knowing how to calculate the NPV of a non-SEC registered security?

Much less understand the concept of risk tolerance, particularly vis-a-vis how risky accredited-investor only investments are. Losing your ass on +90% of them is normal. Normies dont grasp how that's not time to panic, that's expected.

All true but this is just nanny-state government knowing what's best for citizens, keeping them from being responsible for their own choices.

Great point. There is an obvious free market counterpoint to this, but either way non pros will get their asses handed to them in either situation.

On one hand, I'm all for the ability to invest in whatever you want. If Grandma blows her life savings on a weasel-breeding startup, that's her problem.

On the other, a whole lot of people get their feels hurt and cant handle grandma carrying the risk of her investments.

I see what you're saying, but when you have corrupt politicians who engage in insider trading and take bribes to benefit the few, does an understanding even matter when then entire system is rigged? They just want to stop more people from buying shares that (((they))) want to short so they don't get Gamestopped again.

It's even harder now for non-experts to invest due to how detached the market is from fundamentals and how much it's driven by political shennanigans as you mentioned.

It has basically become a casino.
