I don’t agree with saying it’ll only hurt the driver. For instance when you need to make a sudden and evasive maneuver and you get thrown out of position to maintain control of the vehicle. If you were locked into a 3 point seatbelt, you’d stay in position to control the vehicle.

When I was a kid, my dad goofed up and ran into the back of a stopped vehicle. It was a minivan (our vehicle). I was around 9 years old and sitting loose in the middle row. I went into the dashboard. I think a seatbelt would have helped me out.

I don’t think niggers need to wear seatbelts. Which is good. Because they don’t.

On a motorcycle you’re so exposed you’re better off being able to separate yourself from the vehicle if it gets into a tumble. Being strapped to it would only let it batter you or lay on top of you.

The motorcycle is one of those things that would never be allowed to be sold commercially if it were invented today. We only have them because we accepted their enormous dangers back in braver times and we would all raise a huge fuss if someone tried to get rid of them now.

The amount of mental gymnastics in your response is insane.

It's simple. The equivalent of a seatbelt in a motorcycle is the protective gear. Shoulderpads, kneepads, elbowpads, and of course the helmet. The type of moron who drives around without wearing their seatbelt is the same type of moron who rides a motorcycle without a helmet. Case closed.

Besides, my buddy just told me last week about new protective gear for bikers. It's basically a Michelin Man tire suit that inflates when the pullcord gets separated from the bike. Crash tested up to 80 MPH you just bounce like a marshmallow.

But that may not be correct, many fatalities are from being thrown from the car I hear. But then, that would mean they weren't wearing seatbelts, and most people likely do. So maybe you're right.

My brother was in a suburban with a bunch of drunk Mexicans and they rolled it, he was thrown and hit his head on some concrete. There was blood leaking into his casket by his head, stupid funeral home people.

The truck driver who witnessed the accident said he saw person after person being thrown as it rolled, he pulled over and sat sick to his stomach for a while.

When I was a kid, we bounced around the seats, climbed from the back to the front, lay down in the back window ledge, lay on the floor, across the rear seat, stuck our heads out the open window, and I'm still here. Today's kids sit bound up like an insane person in a straitjacket, unable to turn around or stretch. No wonder they are so fucked up. I blame it all on seat belts.

Many things would save lives -- that doesn't mean we should do them. It would save lives if everyone were forced to wear a helmet while walking outside their houses. Should we all be forced to put on helmets to walk on the sidewalk? Don't mock, it's just an extension of the bicycle helmet laws. Saving lives is not the only consideration, when taking away personal liberties.

If you don't damage property or harm a person, why should you get stopped and arrested for DUI? It's the same thing and for the same reasons - federal money. The BAC is 0.08 because if it isn't, your state won't get its cut of the federal gas tax. MADD has been pushing to lower that as well.
