If I recall correctly, it was indeed. And I agree with you, the more I learn the more sorrowful it can become. This is the importance of the hope within.

Romans 12:2 speaks to the constant action of testing to discern the perfect will of God.
To grieve for your sins is a good thing, if it leads you to repentance (doing better, working to improve).
