How have you managed not to become an alcoholic if you've been drinking that long?
He's absolutely an alcoholic. If he claims he's not, that's called "denial" and most addicts engage in it. If you've been drinking bourbon for 40+ years, you're almost hopelessly addicted. The chances of getting sober are not great, and OP has poor decision making skills- buying beer to help "ween himself off" the booze.
Alcoholics should not be holding drinks, period. Dude should probably be in the hospital...
Maybe he'll read what you said. I suspected, I've been around.
Im highly functioning. I dont think there would any problem quitting except for mentally, and I aint saying Im quitting either.
You don't drink a lot relatively then. You wouldn't say you're an alcoholic.
I do have friends in Scotland that are able to manage their whiskey pretty well.
I dunno how, I do everything to the extreme, well, many things, some lawful, some not so much.
