8th grade. My friends and I grabbed some poles and tackle and started riding our bikes out to a lake in hopes of catching a northern. We stopped at one of the smaller lakes along the way. Drop bikes at top of a driveway, walk down to the dock and start fishing. These days, I can't imagine Karen not losing her shit for a few kids fishing off her dock.

Anyway, I caught my first bass off that dock on a black Mister Twister jig spinner.

I caught all my big bass on a "great big purple worm"! Haha.

I love fishing rubber worms for bass. Black is my color or a dark green.

Yeah, I hear you. I always liked using rubber worms. The old motor oil color was my go to. My favorite though, and the thing I caught my largest bass with was a pig and jig rig. A large black jig with a little blue in it with a dark green frog shaped pork rind on it.
