Quitting sugar is amazing. It's been years since I quit sugar. I don't need sweets anymore. The taste of sugar makes me sick. I drink coffee or tea with milk instead of sugar, and this is enough. I am living like my ancestors. Highly recommend quitting sugar. You will start tasting the sweet in natural products and will never want sugar anymore.

I wouldn't make the case that someone (me) is 'obsessed' with something based on a few internet forum board statements.

Sugar cane. But it's processed, not in a whole food form. I would think that's the only problem with it. Again, easier to consume and more tempting to consume more because of that (that would be the 'problem' with it).

I would look at a link if you'd like to send it that would help make clear what you are saying.

You wouldn't say that the same calories in processed sugar are just as 'healthy' for you as the equivalent in a glass of juice would you?

I would say they are indistinguishable from a health standpoint. Drinking 1 cup of orange juice gives you 21 grams of sugar. That is no more healthy than eating 21 grams of table sugar. Where the sugar comes from doesn't change the harm it does in your body. Saying, "Yeah, but there were some vitamins in the orange juice" is irrelevant. The sugar does its damage just the same. It doesn't matter what else you're eating with the sugar.

The total sugar sure, but I wouldn't say that, even in that respect, ingesting in its natural state is not better. It makes sense that there would be something going on 'biochemically' that we don't know about, just as there are (allegedly) micronutrients that are yet unknown in compost as opposed to chemical fertilizer (though that wouldn't be a true apples to apples comparison).

In this respect, the 'damage' would not be the same in that it might be mitigated because ingested in a natural state.

I wouldn't be so zealous or dogmatic about it as you seem to be. But suit yourself of course. Whatever is true is what matters of course.

Because it's all natural, and there's no difference. What you're saying is akin to saying that hemlock isn't as bad for you if you drink it in its natural state as opposed to a refined form. The reality is it makes no difference. Both ways make you dead.
