Depends on the method. You can exceed gasoline won’t he right set up on a generator, or run a TEG setup with batteries for a smaller house with minimal usage. It’s a thing in the very far north where there is no sun some of the year and it’s cold as witches titties.
Considering most energy comes from burning hydrocarbons I'd say greenies are really coal burners.
