Awesome. I've had similar offers. One job had a 10k signing bonus, they have to be desperate. They can pound sand.
yeah, man. it's a great feeling to be in a position to tell these cocksuckers to go eat an entire bag - I'll go somewhere else. majority of the smaller 8(a)s will gladly oblige exemption or fuck it off totally since the mandates have been ruled against. it really is nice to see but it does depend on the industry, kind of a trip really. that's why if it's a company I am unsure about how they handle things I will ask them upfront during the interview or even before if I get the chance.

Yep!
I usually say something like,. I am currently open to new opportunities, however it looks your company requires covid vaccination. I'm am not interested in workplaces which require vaccination. I believe that would exclude me from your search.
If they had a requirement and rescinded it, I comment how I am not willing to put myself in a workplace which has a history of jeopardizing employment status in such a way. It would be an undue risk for me to take a position at "x" company.
Have a nice day fuckers.
They need to understand how much they have limited themselves in attracting talent.
Did you get the 10k wether you lasted a 1 day?
Take it quit.
I didn't look into it, but that is not usually how those work. It more than likely was incremental with money giving out at certain times, on hire, 90 days, 6 months; something like that.
Good work, bro.
One of my mega national clients based in New York planned to introduce vaxx mandates.
They started to put the squeeze on staff. Including those who were remote workers. Some of these people were my friends.
But behind the scenes the company just dragged their feet.
And in the end so much time passed they never did introduce the mandates. Despite even having federal contracts
Oddly, many smaller 8(a)'s didn't blink... was kinda cool, really. Then and now I am approached by headhunters and recruiters from these big (billion dollar) firms - 'oh, we want you, we need you' blah blah ad-nauseum..
Fundamentally it comes down to the fact that they cannot be expected to maintain even a semblance of fairness, balance, or loyalty to their employees.
No one on wallstreet does that.
They want to have their cake and eat it too.
Well I hope it ends the same way as the last person that shouted "let them eat cake."
Heads in baskets and worse.
“Saul Good-man!”
Most of the business restrictions and penalties did not apply to companies of less than 100 employees. It is explicitly stated in the various executive orders, etc. There were always exemptions, and they are telling.
The 100 employee minimum was to protect special interest groups, which are often very small, from having to face fines for not vaxxing themselves.
But, it is also a large reason why certain small companies didn't blink. It didn't apply to them.
very true. but this didn't spill over into the defense world even in companies that had less than 100 - since most likely these will be subs to primes and therefore the rules trickle down. the coercion here is losing a contract and in this space could kill a company. litigation was and is still tricky in these corners of business but many mare making though just fine. even smaller businesses with 200 or 500 were gung-ho in pushing the mandate rule simply due to the fact they were riding the tails of a prime. I applaud all the SMBs that stuck it out and continue to do so; there are many out there that just don't advertise it.
Good on you. Stand by your principles only IF you can afford to do so. If you ended up jobless and destitute with a family to support because of your "principles", I consider that a greater sin. You work your ass off until your dead to provide for your family. That includes putting yourself in danger if needs be: your family comes before your pride.
