They made the F1-12 buttons require the Fn key, and the shit like volume and brightness adjustments are the primary function now. It used to be the other way around, as God intended. Now I have to press Fn + Mute to refresh my browser.

It's because of Apple. Apple always did it this way, and everyone wants to make an Apple clone. All laptops that are not business class or gamer are wannabe Macbooks for poors. My Razer doesn't have this problem. The keyboard isn't perfect, but it's got real F keys.
