You can get an unpowered push mower, with one of those reel-shaped blades, for under $200, maybe for under $100. It would give you some exercise and work off a few inches of that beachball of blubber around your waist. They work fine, but you would need to learn how to sharpen the blades -- they don't stay sharp for long. Or, if a reel mower is too high-tech, let me suggest a scythe. Great for tall grass. Again, blade sharpness is the key.

I have a scythe, and know how to sharpen blades, you woulnt be projecting would you?

I also use one, whetstone is easy enough for me.
