Dig up your lawns and plant food you can eat. Save a ton of money!

My lawn Im sure isnt what you think as yours. I should garden granted. But if shtf here there will be no water for it.

How about a big hole in the ground, like until you find a river or something

A well

Aren't their states in America that prevent people from collecting rain water? 🤣

This aint florida.

you want wood or stone garden beds, get some trickle hoses lay them down on top of the soil then mulch on top. that should allow you to grow in a dry/drought area, its the only way i can grow where im at.

Stfu glow agent.

Grass is foods food.

He just needs lambs grazing on it.

Plants are just sugar and serve to demoralize and sicken

Humans eat meat

Idiotic hippie of the day right here.

So tired of these anti lawn cockmunching faggots.

Why do people like spending $500 a month on water, hours every weekend mowing and edging, and doing fertilizing, aeration, sprinkler repair and all that shit just to have green carpet in their yard? It seems like pure lunacy to me. I can pick up 1,000 round of 5.56 every month from what I save not having a lawn.

[–] 2 pts

I enjoy mowing and edging. I fertilize once a year and lime every other year. That's it. I don't water the lawn unless there is an unusual drought in the middle of summer but well water is free.

Gardening on the other hand, the proposed replacement to a lawn, is fucking expensive. Stupid fucking techno hippies on the internet who've never grown a fucking thing in their life tout it as the answer to "wasteful" lawns.

Truth be told, grass has a purpose. Erosion control. It is the most inexpensive option for this purpose.

I've gardened a 1 acre plot before. It's a serious time and money sink. Just amending the soil is more expensive than a lawn. Then all the labor?

It's unrealistic and it pisses me off when these tree hugging internet faggots bitch about lawns and tell people growing their own food instead of a lawn will "save money." It fucking won't.

Is it really that simple? Somehow I don't think that it is.

That won't work. I planted vegetables and it draws animals. I got so pissed off I was going to shoot the fucking animals for eating my vegetables.

You can get an unpowered push mower, with one of those reel-shaped blades, for under $200, maybe for under $100. It would give you some exercise and work off a few inches of that beachball of blubber around your waist. They work fine, but you would need to learn how to sharpen the blades -- they don't stay sharp for long. Or, if a reel mower is too high-tech, let me suggest a scythe. Great for tall grass. Again, blade sharpness is the key.

[–] 2 pts

I have a scythe, and know how to sharpen blades, you woulnt be projecting would you?

[–] 1 pt

I also use one, whetstone is easy enough for me.

If you aren't hammer-sharpening, you're doing it wrong.

Pound it thin

Fuck man, you should have seen if Jeep had a tow-able mower attachment. Now that would have been sweet driving around on the lawn while mowing with the windows open stereo cranked and a hot coffee in the cup holder.

[–] 1 pt

The problem with that is driving the Jeep around on the grass would tend to damage the lawn.

Now, what you could do is buy some huge balloon tires and run them at low pressure, that way they wouldn't cut ruts in the lawn.

Now imagine driving that shit around...

are you related to engrishishard?

Used mowers run for about $1k. I have a buddy who buys them up for a couple hundred, fixes them up and resells them for that much.

[–] 1 pt

buy a used one, or better yet, drive around in spring time to find someone who put it on the curb because they left fuel in it. Easy fix

[–] 1 pt

didnt want to chance it and the pickings were slim, I checked.

Best time to get anything is after-season. Most people looking to unload and buy new for the next year are always willing to deal.

"Oh no, life is awful"

It will only get so much worse, and you will have the unfortunate eyes to watch it happen.

[–] 1 pt

How much did you pay for your jeep?

I was going to sell my beater (truck) for 1200 (bodies rusted out but it only has 190K on it) and I figured I'd get a trailor and have a few bucks left over for "fun money".
lol. $2399 for a decent trailer....you have to be fucking kidding me. (nope, they're serious) Not fucking happening.

So , I'm keeping my beater to use strictly as a trailer.

i just have a push mower, tried an electric mower last year as they were cheaper and the things are such pieces of shit they go on sale for 50% off.

looked at gas this year and really not worth the money with the mark up.
