A lot of guys I work with have them. They're great especially if you're at a job site you think you'll be in and out of, and run into some bullshit, without having to run for anything. Plus I already have a Gerber knife

Geber products were good back in the day. I won’t buy any of their new stuff. It’s all made over seas now and isn’t worth the money they ask. Junk company if you ask me.

As is most things. Thought Gerber was reliable

It's probably a results may vary thing. I've heard good and bad about Gerber.

Gerber is slightly better than the walmart house brand multi-tool (which in my experience are shockingly good considering the price). The quality multi-tool is leatherman. I think they even make one or two crappy products as well. One of my co-workers recently bought a good one and it's as solid as my 20 year old one. The only thing I don't like about mine is it doesn't have replacable blades on the wire cutters and mine are dented to hell. I could probably send it back for a replacement, but then I'd have to buy something to have on hand while it's being replaced. Unfortunately, leatherman tools aren't cheap. If I worked in a place where theft or loosing a tool was common I'd definitely prefer the Gerber.
