That's because when you're just a made up username safely hiding behind anonymity, you don't matter as much to those you interact with online who are doing the same. It's sort of dehumanizing. I've been thinking about just quitting the internet altogether and focusing more on my community and making friends irl because that's never going to happen here. I thought maybe if I was sincere in my approach and went first to break the ice (but not the poaler bears) and revealed a little about myself, my name, career, background, phone number, etc., that maybe learning a little more about each other in here (other than our cheesy made up usernames) we might actually become more like a real community and build friendships and networks or whatever. But I was so wrong. People here are extremely paranoid (which I totally understand). Most people just thought I was a fed, others thought I posted fake information. Only a couple of people were brave enough to believe me and share even a little bit about themselves. So you won't find friends that give a fuck whether you're dead or alive in here. This place is good for real news that you won't find elsewhere, funny non-pc memes you won't find elsewhere, and that's about it. I'd love to meet everybody here irl, except for @anusexpaner (speaking of, where did he go? nothing popped up when I typed that in just now). It'd be nice to have friends who think like I do.

Good and bad. Because JP accidentally ended up being the celebrity to a lot of people who believe things that are wildly different than his own views. Which just goes to show you don't get to choose who believes in you or follows you.
