Some of you know this, but I own several businesses. All of them are in some sort of service industry that deals directly with customers on a daily basis.

One in particular is in an excruciatingly liberal/progressive city. Like, as you’re driving into town, the first building you see is the city hall and police station, which has a BLM mural on the side. The state has enforced a mask mandate until a few weeks ago, and while I would never enforce one myself, I’ve hired my managers because they are good with business and I trust them to make the decisions that will make the most sense for the success of the business. The managers at this spot felt that enforcing the mandate would suit the area best, so the staff has been masked for a little over a year.

When the mandate was lifted, I again left the decision up to the managers, and they decided they would no longer enforce any kind of mandate, but would leave the option open to the staff. After about a week, I heard that all staff were still masked by choice, save for a couple (one of the two is studying to be a pastor so, you know, good kid).

I decided to make a trip out and spend some time in the place to see how things were going. I did not wear a mask, and worked a full shift just helping the staff wherever I saw it was necessary. I came back the next day to do the same thing, and literally no one on staff was wearing a mask, except for one. Her reason was that she works in a hospital while she studies for a medical career, and she didn’t want to risk getting sick and infecting her patients. I briefly considered explaining how retarded everything about that was, but hey, live and let live. She’s not hurting anyone but herself by wearing it, and she’s honestly a good kid too.

Now two weeks later, the staff remains unmasked and there has been no decline in business despite the progressive liberal retardedness of the whole town in general. Everyone working there was brainwashed by their surroundings and just needed someone to show them that there isn’t any reason to live their lives in fear.

Don’t really know the point of this post, but it made me happy to see the impact that just one conservative person of authority had on being enough to completely change the viewpoints of these younger people who lived in fear only because everyone else around them was doing the same

I think that owning a business is a requisite for understanding that you personally may not always be the best one to make a specific decision for that specific business. Which is why people hire managers, who spend most of their lives in that business, with those people, to make those decisions. I fully believe that that particular business would not be nearly as successful, if not fully defunct by now, if a decision contrary to the one made by the managers was made.

You can call that spineless all you want, a thriving business is better than a dead one no matter what stand you took. Seven dozen good people are gainfully employed because of that decision.

You are a retard.
