Laughing at the idea of buying enough.
If you aren't GROWING or RAISING you are just prolonging your starvation.
Plants don't pop out of the ground overnight.

I assume you mean when we have no internet/power/running water.
Or is it prepping for just a food shortage?
I'm saving for a beefy diesel generator atm.
everyone will hear you
To be fair generators need a decent amount of looking after and oil changes, so I might not bother.
If I could get enough solar to keep my fridge/freezer and a water filter going then I can bbq to cook. Probably a bit more expensive though but cheaper in the long run.
I have a couple of generators but only expect to use them in the short term or for current emergency's. 50 gallons of gas is all I keep anyway. If shtf chainsaws will be the most missed.
What do you recommend buying that would really help? Ammo and non parishables is all I can think of.
Plant potatoes in bags. Buy 5 egg laying hens per person
That's a good idea. The city requires that I not have chickens on my property for some reason. I can probably build a coop and put everything behind my fence, only roosters crow right? I think that's why they're banned. Planting potatoes is genius.
Everything you use on a daily basis, shit aint getting cheaper, Water filtration is a must.
Already have a full water filtration system for the house.
Well, Im talking about if you have to use that mud puddle outside your house.
