I struggle from internet addiction bad. I was raised up terribly and didn't have anyone near the house I grew up that's hidden away in a forest so I spent a lot of time on the computer. These days it's a lot of reading history and catching up with current events plus some documentaries. I really hate it and I'm making steps to curb it, like watching my moms house without my computer and stone age internet this summer so I can focus on art instead.

Brother, if you've got a house hidden away in the forest, you should've been playing outside...

You should really start taking bigger steps to help break away. One thing that really helped a friend of mine who was absolutely addicted to social media- every time he had the impulse to pull up his phone and check his social media, he'd do 10 push-ups instead. I came up with this as a way to help a different friend break away from his pornography addiction- every time he felt like jerking it to porn, he'd do some burpees or planks or sit-ups instead.

It may sound silly, but it fucking works. It retrains your body and brain- that when you feel that impulse, you will associate it with hard physical activity, followed by the endorphin high. This is the best way to retrain your brain out of addiction of all kinds. Replace the addictive chemical/behavior with a productive behavior involving physicality. MEN NEED TO BE PHYSICAL, OTHERWISE WE END UP FEELING LOST AND ASTRAY. And then you'll feel lonely, and you won't know what to do because you're physically afraid on some deep subconscious level to "put yourself out there". Physical confidence is what allowed me to "come out of my shell" in my late teens. I went from "self-hating dweeb" to "fit young man preparing for enlistment" in a few months.

You can do it too. And I'm willing to "sponsor" you through it, you can message me anytime and I'll try to get back to you.

I will also say this- people who use sites like Poal or Voat are "ahead of the curve". We see the horrible truth behind the veneer of MSM. Staring into this is like staring into the abyss, and it will affect your mind. Personally, I had this with a gore-video binge a few years back. Watched like a hundred gore videos. It messed me up for like a week or two. I'm glad I saw it- because that's reality. But there's also good cause to take a break once in a while. So, perhaps put down all internet news for like five days; you'll feel refreshed, I promise you.

MEN NEED TO BE PHYSICAL

I'd go so far to say that everyone needs to be. Way too many fat lazy fucks out there who use excuses to cope with their shitty lives.

I wonder if this is becoming more and more widespread because there are so many more jobs that require ZERO physical effort now, and there are a lot of men working them. That's why they feel lonely and unfulfilled and desperate- because they sit in a cubicle or in their home office all day staring at monitors. The heaviest lifting they do is a cup of coffee to their face.

Compare this to the man who works in say, a copper mine. He's fucking strong as an ox. He comes home tired, but fulfilled, having completed a hard day's work. His wife admires him for having the strength and risk-taking ability to get in those dangerous mines and bring home a ton of cash for her and their kids. Meanwhile, the soyboy cubicle guy's wife is fucking some Chad pool-boy while he's staring at a monitor, getting fatter, posture getting more slouched every day.

I believe it's especially important that men in non-physical jobs spend their free time doing physical exercises, lots of it. Men who have worked hard physical jobs for many years don't really need this, they get 8+ hours a day of good exercise while making money to do it. Isn't there a lot of data that shows the guys doing heavy physical labor are generally more "happy" than the people in their same company working the office? Check me on that, but I swear I've read a few studies relating to this.

I will start this after work tomorrow. I am probably going to crave beer, gonna go for a jog instead. Nice comment. Great advice.

Fuck yeah, cousin. Instead of a beer after work, give me a nicely paced jog at a good distance for you (idk your fitness level, but a mile is generally the least you should go for if your knees aren't all fucked), then come home and unwind in a hot bath. Throw a hot, wet towel over your head and just inhale the steam, slowly exhale. Just breathe in the moment as your body is cleansed.

If you can do it, run your ass off. Don't do this too close to your bed time, otherwise you could end up sort of "wired" and have trouble falling asleep. If you can do this before dinner, dinner will taste so good and by your typical bed time you'll be exhausted. You should be able to fall asleep and stay asleep till the morning.

Good luck and hang in there. When you're running tomorrow, if a voice in your head creeps in and starts saying "It's okay to stop running, slow down, this is hard", I want you to shout "FUCK YOU, NIGGER, I'MA KEEP RUNNING!!" and dig fucking deep. You can do it.

Reminds me of that audiobook "atomic habits" it got me on the path again.

Thank you, I did spend a great deal of time outside and I have a lot of fond memories of it too. That's part of why I want to go back and house sit while she's away this summer but without the internet and reconnect to some of those better memories. But I did a lot of computer stuff, especially in the long northern winters we have. My internet addiction got worse afterwards when I moved out, and I hate it.

I used to do some good workouts up until a few years ago, so I understand where you're going and agree. As far as loneliness goes, I'm mostly comfortable by myself and enjoy the silence but also maybe that's the internet addiction. Ideally I'd focus on concentrating on art or music instead of siphoning though texts, comparing notes and watching documentaries but my attention span has gone to the dogs.

A lot of what you said were really good points that had crossed my mind. Despite all the wasted time online it did bring me here at least catching up on real history and all this jew garbage. At this point it's time to start doing things like what you pointed out. As far as giving up internet for 5 days, I considered asking my sister who comes by often with the kids to take the router for a few days or block the computer with something like the ColdTurkey app. Since there's already plans for me to house sit I guess better to ease in.

That sounds pretty good. Bring some books, PHYSICAL BOOKS (not audio books or Kindle or w/e), some puzzles, any workout equipment you have like dumbbells or a pull-up bar.

And then just disconnect in this house you're looking after. Disconnect from the madness, and reconnect with yourself. Sit in the silence. You'll be amazed at where your mind takes you when you're not constantly bombarded with new information. At first, you may feel bored and like you must reconnect to the machine. But if you can just resist this for a day or two, you will find SERENITY unlike anything you've ever experienced.

After you undergo this "detox", you can come back in a much healthier mind frame. You'll feel better physically and sharper in the mind.

Go get a job doing physical labor. It'll break that quick and will feel rewarding.

I got fired recently from my medical billing job at a hospital for not taking their vaccine, and they ignored religious exemptions so atm taking a more active job is on my mind.

You should have went shooting and training in the forest with your favorite firearm in a responsible manner.
