Ok I see where I made a mistake on the math. The escape velocity is ~11.4km/s and the SV only had enough power for 10.8km/s but I didn't account for the moon's gravity and using Earth as a slingshot. That almost makes sense, but just because your math checks out in theory don't mean it will in real reality.
Let's be honest, you didn't use any physics, you just used Kerbal space program.
The Saturn V rockets were real, and they certainly put men into low earth orbit. The manned missions to the moon were complete science fiction.

It takes a large canon to fire men into orbit. It takes a super large rocket to fire men to the moon. The saturn v was super large. Twice that of the largest rocket today.
