Ok I see where I made a mistake on the math. The escape velocity is ~11.4km/s and the SV only had enough power for 10.8km/s but I didn't account for the moon's gravity and using Earth as a slingshot. That almost makes sense, but just because your math checks out in theory don't mean it will in real reality.
