The way people think of their employer or the government as their parents is a disease. The government, your employer, neither of them should be involved with your healthcare choices at all. They are not responsible for your wellbeing, you are. You should buy your own insurance of all kinds, you should do your own retirement planning, your employer is responsible for giving you money, that's it, not planning your life.
