By allowing the US cities to become nests of unrest and degradation, as oppossed to centers of vibrant economic strength, the US has 40% of the population supporting 100% of the population. The strength of the US is the petro-dollar; it is also the Achilles heel. The more the US falls back to Neo-Con policies, the tighter the spring winds. The feminization of the military is a key part of this. An actual sustained conflict would reveal an ugly underbelly.
"An actual sustained conflict would reveal an ugly underbelly."
I agree. Which is why the u.s. would opt for "full-weapons hot" in the event of a real full-blown conflict, relying on soldiers mostly as cannon-fodder and large scale aerial bombing (which we always do when we can't hold territory).
Explains romney insanely frothing at the mouth about "bomb russia! do it! do it now!" (paraphrasing). hes just the can-on-a-wire for the back-of-the-mind obsessive lunatic thought process of the u.s. elite.
I think I could believe him saying that was, for once, a genuine threat. But no. Something seems.. off about it.
Looking at all the other variables, it is safe to come to two conclusion:
Either the u.s. elite are absolutely fucking desperate and have become genuinely unhinged in their approach OR
this is another bluff.
The u.s. has spent decades accusing every major opponent of being a paper tiger. The core tactic of a paper tiger is bluffing on international decisions and policies.
The distinguishing element here that determines which is the case (truly unhinged, or bluffing), is single nation which the u.s. has been obsessed with for many years, and whos proclamations against it are as frequent as they are empty: Iran.
The u.s. has continually threatened iran and generally failed to follow through in any significant measure.
And with this single observation, we can successfully say, reliably, that the sudden "unhinged" swing of the american elite is none other than a crude utterly pragmatic and calculated, *utter and complete farce, a pure bluff--a doubling down of everything the u.s. has previously done, every playbook and tactic summarized.
The u.s. has become utterly, and fatally, predictable.
They even had me fooled for a minute. And cynicism is the foundation of my entire world view.
