The only way it's possible that it's not a "thing" is:
- CO2 doesn't have absorption bands in the infrared
- There is some as of yet unknown mechanism for earth to shed extra heat absorbed by CO2.
If you believe it's conclusively not a thing, please shed light on how the excess heat is shed from the system.
