The reason I ask is Boeing is usually hiring, they're veteran friendly, and they recently dropped their mandate for getting the jab. They're a good company to work for if you can handle the bullshit of a big defense contractor.
We also have DSCC here, part of DLA, but I don't know how far they're going to civvies to get the jabs.
Out where I work the Boeing contractors have a reputation for being alcoholics.
lol, nice. The ones where I am do not, you'd probably get fired.
Knew a guy who was a welding inspector for DuPont. He told me the company ran wide scale experiments allowing their welders to drink on the job. Was supposed to help with toxic fume exposure or something.
Yeah, helps them ignore how pissed off they are at working in environments with toxic air.
I question the legitimacy of your friend's story, sounds like a load of shit to me. Don't think any company would break the law by allowing alcohol consumption by employees operating dangerous equipment as an "experiment". If some dude got wasted, then blew himself up while welding, and then word got to his family that he was told by his boss to knock back some whiskey at the beginning of his shift, how do you think that would turn out for the employer? Why open themselves up to liability like this when they could instead simply pay some outside research firm to conduct this experiment under controlled conditions where reliable data could be gathered?
I'm unsure when she'll be ready to hit the job market again. We prepared for homelessness (we're not going to be homeless, we just prepped for it) with a 4x4 van that we're going to take 'off-grid' for as long as we want. We're going to fish/camp/hike through this shit. In a few years, we'll come back and see what society settled in to.
I'm impressed you still like her enough to offgrid with her. I never came close to that love.
All men love what they invest their time and energy in.
That sounds like fun, we envy you. Be sure to avoid the groid.
Makin’ some lemonade out of that sheeit! Lots of great boondocking to be had out there.
Sounds good. I just want to mention that right now is an awesome time to get a job. Companies are stumbling over themselves trying to attract people.
