The popular reaction is what happened in the Canadian trucker strike. It genuinely did accomplish something. Here's litmus test for whether you're on the same page as I am. Did you get depressed when the truckers were eventually cleared out with no concessions being made from Trudeau?
As a matter of political realism, we knew the truckers were going to lose and be cleared out. These were legitimate anti-regime protesters, not the pets of the establishment like the civil rights protesters or the George Floyd rioters. These were actual opponents of the regime, so they could not win by definition.
The victory that they won was in demonstrating the falsehood of protesting to intellectuals and stakeholders of the ruling class. What these protests demonstrate is this: going forward, any kind of large scale demonstration that isn't greeted by emergency powers, frozen bank accounts, and paramilitary police, we may assume that protest is sponsored by the regime.
