This is how they want you to feel and you're only pleasing them. How have they ruined it exactly, have they reached in to your mind and erased your memories from that time? Have they taken every bit of evidence from that time and destroyed it? Is it impossible for you to buy or download music or movies from that time you can show your children? No they haven't so saying they've ruined it is an illusion.
