the agent concept is laid out in the woman in red dress scene and even though it's agent smith's physical appearance used, morpheus still just refers to him as an agent and "them."
that character becoming something entirely different from the concept makes it weird to specifically use him for it.
Reading this I immediately think aspburgers.
The name sparks the image of his face which makes it easier to remember the scene. Just how brains work. Communication means using what the listener understands, rather than what you understand, and most people miss and forget a lot of details.
I can tell you're smart enough to have a blind spot for how most people think, which makes stuff like this frustrating. I totally get where you're coming from.
