Many people lack any sense of identity. So they define themselves by what they own, or their job, or politics, etc. For example, there are people who buy a Harley Davidson motorbike. Then they build their identity around that. They become the Harley guy. They dress as the Harley guy, they talk and walk they way they think the Harley guys should. - You know what I mean. You've seen that personality type. People with that type of personality have no identity, so they try to build one. Work is the best and most constructive thing they can build their personality around. Yes, they can be annoying to work with at times, but other times you're glad you have someone who puts in the time and effort to be good at their job. In the end, people like that exist. That personality type will always exist. Be happy that they form their identity around work, and not social justice issues, or some other bullshit.
