You expect the leaders to hold themselves accountable? Our precious system of checks and balances has mostly been compromised, and so the only hope for justice now lies on "We The People". But "we the people" are still comfortable, and "we the people" do not wish to sacrifice that comfort to bring forth justice. Furthermore, a portion of "we the people" have not had our eyes opened, or are otherwise blind. One day, a hill worth dieing on may appear, but it seems the Afghanistan fiasco was not it, just like all of the other transgressions that have come to pass. Or perhaps "we the people" are keeping track of said transgressions, making a nice long case, letting them hang themselves with the longest rope in history, or maybe "we the people" are making some long 4D chess move. Hey, does anyone happen to have a time machine or a crystal ball laying around?
