Started the morning with a good attitude. Finally going to resolve the gay "Service Engine Soon" light on an early 2000's Chevy 1500. Rear knock sensor. May as well change both. havetopulltheintakemanifold.png No big. If Haynes be with me who can stand against me. Get everything apart with reasonable ease. Reverse tightening pattern on these nuts. Front knock sensor comes right out. Rear knock sensor immediately spins off its stud with the tiniest amount of torque on the wrench. Housing comes out with vicegrips. The stud is stuck there in its well tough as shit. Fuck me. Fucking jews. Didn't bring my extractors. The struggle will continue tomorrow.

I parked my 86 dodge w150. Trans pan gasket blew. Soaked the bolts with pb blast for 3 days. 4 bolts snapped clean with very little pressure. Started driving my old taurus, booster went out. Loosing vacuum. It truely never ends.

Shoulda used some pb blaster or that brake fluid mix.

It's soaking in it now. I'm the king of using too much torque but I didn't even have the ratchet on the extension/socket when it spun off the stud. Front one almost fell out. Rear one was fucked.

Well at least they both didn't snap.

I got sick of working on used shit all the time and got a new truck so I wouldn't have to worry. And now I'm modding it anyways. Ecoboost engines are fast as shit if you're willing to void the warranty with a tune haha.

Do they still have the cracking issue? I remember the 2.3 turbo would crack the block when it first came out.

I just need a 24" socket and my finger-eyes to do mine. I feel bad for you son, I got 99 problems but a sensor ain't one.

I try to fix as much of my own shit as I can but fuck me sometimes it's a bitch.

It's a never ending process, I have to replace the torsion bar of my power steering torque sensor, and get around to replacing the compliance bushings. Then I'll finally have the car mechanically perfect, and can drop $3,000 to get new fenders and respray the POS.

The computer will continue to do its best to adjust. A piece of electrical tape will put that ses light out of mind. Those sensors can age with the two spark plugs and everything else requiring the exhaust manifold be removed.

This is why I only ride in helicopters

I hope you’ve given some commies their one way ride

A simple fix:

Take off the radiator cap, then slide a new truck underneath. Put radiator cap back on.

Done easy peasy.

You could've just removed the +side of the battery cables for 5min. and the code goes away.

What do you think I've been doing between the onset of the gay light and now?

[–] 0 pt

How could I know that?

I was trying to save you a few scraped knuckles, not be a smartass, you fucking asshole.

Lol the sensitivity on here is off the charts tonight

I said that jokingly captain sensitive. Also, I'm trying to actually fix the problem while I can still find parts. I reset the code like a d-gen a couple times already hoping it was seasonal.

Your car has 2 options when the knock sensor is fucked, limp mode, or it no longer detects knock. If the latter your engine is on borrowed time.
