Nothing too exciting. Myself, wife, grand daughter, older brother, and brother in law all went. Did some hiking.
Wife practiced fire making with flint and a magnesium strip. My oldest son did too before we left to camp. Did some fishing. Wife was the only one to catch anything and she caught three. Saw some alligators. A first for the grand daughter. Usual camping stuff.
My hike was only about a mile because of the flu. Sweated my brains out and generally didn't feel great.
We were prepared for winter camping and the weather was unusually warm. Low was in the 70s at around 3am. Sleeping on top of your cold weather bag (-15F) doesn't make for great rest.
Nice! I love camping stories even if they aren't scary. Family camping stories are great but they are the greatest when there are gators involved.
Yep,sounds like a S.E.Texas,camping trip.
