If you go on poal, voat, patriots.win, ANY social media site that allows likes / upvotes that isn't main stream you'll notice consistently the participation rate in upvoting is LOW. Not the amount that could have upvoting, but just the shear participation rate.

This has led me to believe twitter, youtube, reddit etc all partake in false upvote counts etc simply to boost the perceived participation.

Sites like gab, voat, poal, patriots.win etc may already have more clout than it seems like they do.

Poal has way more lurkers than active voters.

You don't have to be registered/logged to browse posts and their comment threads.

That’s true for all the sites listed as mainstream as well, though.

If it's not a trade secret, what the percentage that post/comment vs lurk?
